Dumpy Myrtle

DUMPY MYRTLE
When I was about ten years old,
I was put to a great school,
And had for my companion
A schoolmate who was a fool.
He fared as many do,
And was of no great worth,
And I did not care for him,
Nor he for me on earth.
Then I was not so old,
As I am now, I think;
I was not so wise a fool,
As I am now, I think.
But when I was about ten years old,
I was put to a great school,
And had for my companion
A schoolmate who was a fool.
