Tradúzcase al español:
One day the children had a race. One of them said, "Let's see who will get to that orange tree first!" They started off running and [pretty] soon the donkey joined them.
His master said, "Platero is going to win!" And Platero reached the tree before any one. The children protested saying, "That isn't fair! No! No!" But his master said that Platero had won the race and that it was right to reward him in some way.
The prize was a book, but as Platero could not read, they made a wreath and put it on his head.
