Nature’s Gifts

The unblossomed bud of the rose,
The leaf of the weeping willow,
The berry of the holly tree,
The lark’s and the linnet’s melody.
The glow of the sunset,
The scent of the summer rain,
The whisper of the evening breeze,
The glory of the morning star.
The beauty of the starry night,
The dance of the moonbeams bright,
The music of the ocean wave,
The silence of the deep, still cave.
The might of the mountain high,
The calm of the cloudless sky,
The wildness of the windswept plain,
The freshness of the morning rain.
The loveliness of nature’s face,
The charm of each wild, lonely place,
The mystery of the fading light,
The wonder of the endless night.
The passion of the human heart,
The solace of the poet’s art,
The truth of a lover’s vow,
The peace that is found even now.
