The Philosopher

The Philosopher
I have watched the stars wheel, and the seasons turn,
And the lessons of ages, my soul has to learn.
I have seen the great empires rise up and decay,
And the wisdom of ages I’ve sought in my way.
I have questioned the stars, and I’ve questioned the sun,
And the truth of the ages, till life is outrun.
I have watched the stars wheel, and the seasons turn,
And the lessons of ages, my soul has to learn.
