The Sacrifice

I can but trust that sense of obligation
To some great spirit has been laid on me
In life to make me give to all the rest
Of men the happiness that I have missed.
For I have missed so much. I have been in
A state of being where I have not known
What happiness was. But I have had
A thought of it. And I will give it all
To them. I will give myself to all the rest
