A Simple Tune

by Sara Teasdale · 1869 · Beauty & Art
A simple tune, a melody,
That floats upon the evening air,
A moment's sweet tranquility,
To banish every worldly care.
It speaks of peace, and gentle rest,
A balm unto the weary soul,
And in the heart, it finds its nest,
And makes the wounded spirit whole.
