CONVERSION
The preacher cried, his voice ablaze,
“Repent, ye sinners, turn from sin!”
He spoke of hell, and fiery haze,
And urged the souls to let God in.
The congregation, filled with dread,
And fear of judgment, sharp and deep.
They bowed their heads, and bowed and bled,
As tears of anguish they did weep.
But in the midst, a woman knelt,
Her heart ablaze with newfound light.
A holy fire she keenly felt,
And rose to truth, and rose to right.
She spread her arms, her face serene,
And spoke of love, and grace, and peace.
A savior born, a holy queen,
Her spirit found its sweet release.
