A Farewell Glance

by Sara Teasdale · 1869 · Life & Death
One last fond look, one parting sigh,
As weary eyes bid earth adieu,
Beneath the vast and endless sky,
A soul departs, forever new.
The earthly ties now gently cease,
As spirit wings its final flight,
To find at last eternal peace,
Beyond the veil of mortal night.
