Emma's Dell

In Emma's Dell, where sunlight streams,
And wildflowers gently sway,
Young Emma dreamt her youthful dreams,
Throughout the livelong day.
She knew not of the world outside,
Its sorrows and its strife,
But in her dell, she could abide,
And live a happy life.
The birds sang sweet, the stream did flow,
And all was fair and bright,
And she did watch the seasons go,
With innocent delight.
