Glow-worm Rock

Glow-worm Rock, where embers bright,
Did sparkle in the dark,
And cast a mild and gentle light,
As from a hidden spark.
The wanderer, lost upon the way,
Would see this gentle gleam,
And find his path, and safely stray,
As in a waking dream.
Yet 'twas no dream, but nature's lamp,
A beacon in the night,
That guided through the darkness damp,
To safety and to light.
