Ghimmer Crag

Upon Ghimmer Crag, so high and steep,
Where eagles built their nest,
A lonely shepherd used to keep,
His watch, and take his rest.
He had no home, no wife, no child,
No friend to call his own,
But lived among the mountains wild,
A dweller there alone.
And in his hand, he held a staff,
And in his eye a tear,
And in his heart, a mournful laugh,
For all he held so dear.
