On a Lady Weeping.

Is it a joy or sorrow that hath made
Thee weep, fair maid? Hath thy heart's gentle friend
A tale of bliss or woe to thee betray'd?
If joy, I weep with thee; if woe, I blend
My tears with thine. Oh! let me not surmise
That sorrow hath the dimness in thine eyes.
