The Gentle Rain

A gentle rain begins to fall,
Upon the parched and thirsty earth,
And answers nature's silent call,
To give new life, a sweet rebirth.
It patters soft on window pane,
A soothing sound, a soft refrain,
Washing away all doubt and pain,
And cleansing all the world again.
